Import Process
- Go to Import → New Import.
- Select the data type.
- Upload a CSV or Excel file.
- AI auto-maps your columns to SmartComply fields. Review and adjust.
- Preview data for accuracy.
- Run the import.
- Review the results summary and download any error reports.
AI Column Mapping
SmartComply's AI reads your column headers and suggests the best field mappings. Common variations are handled automatically (e.g., "Address 1" → "Street Address", "BFP Serial" → "Serial Number"). You can override any suggestion.
Duplicate Handling
The importer detects potential duplicates based on key fields (serial number for assemblies, permit number for permits, etc.) and lets you choose to skip, update, or create a new record.
