Signing a Report

Once identity proofing is complete, you can sign compliance reports electronically.

How to Sign

  1. Navigate to the report you want to sign (e.g., a pretreatment semi-annual report).
  2. Review the report content carefully.
  3. Click Sign & Certify.
  4. Review the certification statement (a legal attestation of accuracy).
  5. Enter your password to confirm your identity.
  6. Click Apply Signature.

What Happens After Signing

  • A Copy of Record is generated — a tamper-evident PDF with an embedded SHA-256 hash.
  • The signature metadata (signer name, timestamp, IP address, hash) is permanently recorded in the audit trail.
  • The report status changes to Signed.
  • The Copy of Record is stored in the document repository and can be downloaded at any time.

Audit Trail

Every step — from report creation to data entry to review to signature — is logged. The audit trail is immutable and meets 40 CFR Part 3 requirements.
